Party pancake

So we have a new (and we would say better) way of doing pancakes! Here is all you do: buy pancake mix, check! Add a little vanilla extract (if you like). We add an egg too so there is more protein, and follow remaining directions on box. Keep in mind if you add the vanilla and egg you won't need to add as much liquid to the mix. Now here is the part that makes this special: mix and put in a greased MUFFIN TIN! Then add some meat, we prefer sausage- yum yum! But you can add anything. Just plop in right on top! Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until the top is lightly browned and BOOM! You have the best on the go pancake breakfast!
We add a little butter and dip in syrup, or but some jam or jelly on it. Perfect! So now we have a good breakfast to keep our energy up... We are at war with the squirrels...

Best bite!

So mom made this amazing appetizer! And it was SUPER easy and tasted delicious. It was a combo of all our favorites: crab Rangoon and bruschetta. Woooowie!!!!
All you have to do for this is cut the crust off white bread and smush it down (love doing this to my peanut butter sandwiches). You put olive oil on both sides of the smushed bread, and stick it in a muffin tin so it makes a cup. Then mix some cream cheese with italian seasoning and garlic powder. You want enough cream cheese mix to plop and small spoonful in each cup. Then bake! We tried the oven at 375 and that was WAY to hot, so back it down to 350 and check it to make sure it's not burning: you just want to brown the edges. Maybe 12 minutes. Then take a slice of mozzarella cheese (we used the ball and sliced it up) and a salted slice of tomato. Drizzle a smidge of balsamic vinegar an BOOM! You have the yummiest appetizer ever! Super simple and clean to eat: even mommy didn't drop any on the floor!

I want S'More!!!

So today we took a step on the wild "camping" side... kind of. We made S'more Bread!! Wowie this will be definitely be a repeat! Yummy! Big hit with the two legged ones. Now to make it more simple mom bought pre-made dough from the store. Rolled it out and put all the ingredients together. When it was first rolled out it was very thin... The way it came out! BOOM
So as you can see this thing can get REAL big and REAL messy! You should see the oven after this bad boy was done. Eww... Even we wouldn't go near that! Good thing Mom doesn't let us near the oven o we would have to clean the WHOLE thing! Might burn our tongues... So here is what we learned about this for the next go round

#1: use a pan with sides so that the juices don't leak into the oven.

#2: don't over do the innards of this... it may look flat and thin but it POOFS up real good!

So here is the insides of this... as you can see MESSY and ENORMOUS but it was amazing!
And a nice little slice of S'more Heaven. Serve with knife and fork... those humans can get messy!

On a good note since Obi and Gigi (our grandparents) where in town we got the "pool pad" built. This means that by next week we will be swimming laps around the other dogs! HA!
Well thats all for now! Catch you later!

Bad hair day

Well... Mom did it... she tried her hand at shaving me (Aubie)... Lets just say that I was named after Aubie the auburn tiger because I have an auburn coat. Now I LOOK like a tiger with stripes! Luckily dad comes home in a few days and he says he can fix it. Whew, just don't let Sadie come over and see me! That would make me sad... But like I said dad can fix my "buzz cut" mom gave me. YIKES!
Today was good, mom is still training for her half marathon. She stopped making us go with her, something about long distance running. Apparently she doesn't appreciate all the pit stops we make and the criss-crossing of the leashes when we walk, I don't know whats not to love! But we are still getting PLENTY of exercise. Keeping all the squirrels and chipmunks away from moms fresh garden is a tough job! We had a friend come over for dinner tonight. Did a little entertaining and catching up, its nice to have  beautiful home to host nice things in :)
No new recipes have been tired as of yet... we have had to many leftovers! BUT we did freeze some of the south western egg roll mix and had that for appetizers tonight. It's just as good left over as it is the day it was made! Nice little treat and easy to make! Still had to use crescent rolls... transparently at the Walmart they consider dumpling wrappers "seasonal"... hmmmm...

Well thats all for now.. to leave you with a funny story we caught our fish "sucking face" today...

How strange... CATCH YOU LATER!

Mexican Bark-festa!

So Aunt Brittany came over and we tried out a new recipe! Actually two... now in the end we decided that the two would be better off separate (lots of bread... but we will get to that!) they where both AMAZING! Deff a repeat meal :)
So the meal was Southwest Chicken wrap and southwestern egg roll. We also tried out another first: shopping at the Piggly Wiggly. It was a fun experience, we liked it, but they didn't have a very big selection in Asian food... so we couldn't do the egg rolls with egg roll wraps, we compromised and rolled out cresent rolls.. this is why there was a lot of bread. But anywhos! So we got all the ingredients and went to town! It was fun cooking up a storm.
With the new house up and running we should be doing this a lot! We also started a new tradition... well not new but we are bringing back an old one. We sit on the porch before dinner, get a chance to get a good head scratch, catch up on the day, have refreshments. Our water is always cooold and good. The tall ones always have cans or classes or red or clear stuff. Whenever they drink it they go "ahhhh thats good". So strange these parents.

So finally it was all ready and it tasted great! We decided that the egg rolls might be nice as an appetizer and the wrap would be good all by its lonesome. What a great meal! Like we said, it will be repeated!
We are looking forward to a visit from our Gigi (thats our grandma). She comes in tomorrow to help mommy "decorate". In my opinion having the pictures on the floor is the BEST! We can see them better that way, and we like to put nose marks all over them. We think it adds a bit of character, don't you? Well thats all for now! Time to go and chase all these pesky squirrels and chipmunks that are invading our territory! CHARGE!
Catch you later!

Long time no bark!!

Ok..... so life has been CRAZY! We bought a HOUSE! You should see the back yard... ITS HUGE! So when the house was bought it wasn't exactly ready to rest our rumps... So we had to work extra hard to get things moving. Daddy is gone to Florida for work so we only worked on the weekends. We knocked out walls, replaced carpet, put in hardwoods and repainted EVERYTHING! Wish we could say mom and dad did it but really we all know.. without all our barking and sniffing nothing would get done. :)
So now we are alllll moved in! Our beds and bones are here and we are LOVING it. Things couldn't be better! We even had a play date with an old friend, Sadie. Mommy says she is going to start using her brand new kitchen and put it to good use... no more take out here! We will let you know how well she does... Well gotta get back to getting to know the neighbors! They are super loud but we enjoy the communication we have. Nothing beats a good bark fest! Catch you later!

Flop and trot

Well today mom tried a new recipe from Pinterest. It was supposed to be garlic and brown sugar glazed chicken and zucchini fries. Sounds scrumptious? Well... It was a bbbuuuussst! This food is NOT for the dogs... We wouldn't eat it! The only good thing is the zucchini was crispy, but using the flour to make it crispy changed the taste... We will stick with our dog food thank you very much.
On a better note our marathon training is going good! Mom is training is and we are training mom to have patience. We stop at every post, bush, flower... You get the picture. It all smells so good!!! But we set a goal and not only did we make it, we went even further! Ohhh yea we are good.

Puppy love

Love is in the air! Mom and dad celebrated valentines... Whatever that is. All I know is mom brought home a ton of candy and she says candy will make us sick... Anyways. She did make a yummy desert. We couldn't have any but from the looks of it it had to be delicious. It was mini strawberry pies. So good and so yummy! The rest of the dinner was good to. Dad even made bruschetta! We tried to sneak a lick but we got caught... Next time!

Home at last

Well it's official!... Kind of. Mom and Dad say that there is still a lot of "paper work" left to do... whatever that is... All we know is when we are left home alone, we eat paper... But the official part is we found a home! WHOOP! Some man is going to inspect the home and make sure everything works tomorrow. We heard that we close in April but that does not mean we will be living there. A lot of work is going to be done to the house... new floors, knocking down a wall, building a deck! FUN! Then we move... and we HATE moving... all the boxes and packing and unpacking... what a back ace! We work so hard to! HA!
In other news mom told us she is running a 1/2 marathon! Thats a looong ways... to long for us... we get tired after only a mile... but we will all get in shape together! Always fun! She is actually running two marathons. First one is Sept. 1st in Virginia Beach. The next one is in November in Savannah! Cool stuff. I don't think we can run the race with her, but we will get her in shape for it anyways!
A new house and a first time 1/2 marathon! LOTS of new stuff coming our way! I think we can deal. We just go with the flow, as long as there are bones somewhere along the way :)

Let the Thunder Roll

Well today was a productive day. Although the storms kept us in all day we did hear that Mom and Dad might have found a home! They continue to tell us the yard is "As big as Texas". We have never been to Texas but I am assuming that means big! There is talk of a sun room, basement, and even a movie room! I think if this house works out we will be happy romping around. With all the thunder and lighting today it was nice when they came home and we all got to snuggle on the couch. When the big booms came we both hid under the blankets! SO LOUD! We will keep you posted on the new for the house.
Mom has been a Pintrist fanatic this week. I even think she is going to try out some new recipes! More to come on that too! YUM

For the Squirrels

This is my first time blogging and I wanted to share the "tails" of my two pups; Max and Aubie. Max came first when we where in college and Aubie followed a few months before we got married. The two where meant for each other and are like "Two Peas in a Pod". Max actually found Aubie and we couldn't resist adding Aubie to our family. They have been BFF ever since!
Max grew up in Auburn and Atlanta and Aubie was just the ATL city dog. After a year the pups where picked up and moved to good ol' B'ham! And this is where our adventure begins!!!

Well this place is better than the last itsy bitsy place we had before... Went from ATL to a single bedroom one bath apartment in B'ham. The move didn't make Mom and Dad to happy.... but we are all coping. NOW we are in a nice place! Good yard, nice sunny spot on the couch, but we hear the talk and the talk to we are moving... AGAIN!
That's all Mom and Dad talk about... house this house that. We even heard we where buying a house, guess that didn't work out. So back to square one... the search. They keep telling us that we are going to move into a better place. HUGE backyard and all the perks :) We will be the Kings of that castle too! Well to be continued tomorrow... maybe Mom and Dad will find our new dog house? We will see!
Catch you Later!
